Netflix’s most-watched series, Squid Game Season 3 – “It’s Time to Play One Last Time to End the Game” – officially released its teaser on April 6, 2025. As the drama’s second season ended with so many unresolved questions, Season 3 will complete all the mystery and unfinished storylines when it releases on June 27, 2025. But after seeing the teaser, you might not recognize what’s going to happen in Season 3. The teaser also shows us which games will be played, who mysteriously survived the last battle scene of Season 2, and who is going to die. Well, let’s break down the teaser together to see what might happen.
1. Gi-hun in the Death Box – But Still Alive?
The teaser starts by showing Gi-hun in the box where all members are placed after dying. But Gi-hun is still alive in the box. They’re trying to show that, in the previous season, those who rebelled against the organization all died, and they sent Gi-hun to make an example and also create extra drama for the VIPs.
2. The Return of the Marbles Game From S1? Red vs Blue Ball Teams
The second scene shows that they are going to play a game. They choose a ball, and according to the balls, the team will be divided into two teams. My gut feeling tells me that a game from Season 1 will return. There is a game in S1 – “Marbles” – with a fixed time limit, where from each pair, one survives and one dies. Back to S3, maybe the red balls team and blue balls team will battle each other, and whichever team wins will survive. We see a scene where Gi-hun from the red team passes through a place, and in the background, a person from the blue team dies. Above them, there is a timer. This totally indicates the Marbles game from Season 1, where the game is about eliminating the opposite team members to reach the destination.
3. Heartbreaking Moments: Will the Old Lady Loser her Son?
If this is going to happen, then it will be very sorrowful, because we see the old lady crying so hard and badly – maybe because her son died. Here, the old lady’s boy (Player 007), the trans girl (Player 120) are in Team Blue. Gi-hun, the old lady, and the pregnant girl are in the red team. Some of them are definitely going to die, because we see a scene in the teaser where Player 333 is full of blood, and the old lady is crying badly.
4. The Father Who Was Supposed to Be Dead Is Alive?
Next, the scene shows us that the father of that little child is still alive. He seemed to have died in Season 2, but maybe that woman guard saved him. We knew from the previous season that the woman guard used to play with his child and also recognized him in the game. Well, it’s a relief that he is alive and maybe could get back to his sick child.
5.Why Is Gi-hun Handcuffed? And What’s the Frontman Planning?
In the teaser, we see Gi-hun handcuffed. Maybe in the entire season, he will be handcuffed except during game time, to ensure that he won’t gather people and rebel against the game. Talking about that, we see that the Frontman is in a guilty mood for killing Player 390 and others, because they rebelled in the previous season. At the last moment, he appeared to die, but eventually he returns to his Frontman role. The Frontman might also do something in this season to end the game.
6. The Woman Guard’s Escape Through Ventilation
Now let’s take a look at the woman guard. In the teaser, we see she is trying to escape the game zone, because in S2 she came without knowing that she would have to kill people. Now she successfully escapes the zone through the ventilation. Hopefully, she is able to meet with the police and might try to destroy the game. Next There is a scene showing Player 124, Thanos’s team member. In the Season 3 teaser, he appears very triggered. He might play a very dangerous scene and kill someone in the game, because in S2 we saw that after Thanos died, he took his dr**gs.
7. Will The Police Man will Able to Reach the Island?
Talking about the police, we saw the policeman in a diving suit reach an island. This is because in S2, the boatman was revealed as one of the game’s members who pretended to help the police. At the end of s2, he also killed someone on the boat who saw him destroy the drone. In S3, the boatman might get into a fight with the policeman, and that’s why the officer somehow escaped the boat with a diving suit and is now trying to find the island on his own.
8. A Female VIP and a Secret Attack Plan?
Next, we see the VIPs. And we see that in this season, there will be one female VIP, which was not present in Season 1. You may ask, “There are two long-haired people?” Well, one of them is a man with long hair, and the other is a woman. After that, we see the policeman entering with a weapon. The place looks very fancy, so it can’t be the players’ room. It must be the VIPs’ room. If that’s the case, it will be a big success for him, because he finally managed to reach the island, the game zone, and probably managed to reach the VIPs with weapons – like in the previous season.
